What to do in case of a candle fire?

To effectively handle a candle fire, you must act swiftly and with caution. If you notice a candle has ignited nearby items, your first step is to remain calm. Do not attempt to blow out a candle fire as this can spread flames and cause injuries. Instead, use a fire extinguisher if you have one readily available.

If the fire is small and manageable, you can try to smother it by carefully placing a metal lid or damp cloth over the flame to cut off its oxygen supply. Never use water to extinguish a candle fire as this can cause the hot wax to splatter and spread the fire further. Always prioritize your safety and have an evacuation plan in place.

If the fire is large, spreading rapidly, or if you are unable to contain it within seconds, do not hesitate to call emergency services immediately. Time is of the essence when it comes to fire emergencies, and firefighters are trained to handle such situations with expertise and the right equipment.
